On Meet The Press yesterday, Speaker Boehner was asked if he should stand up against the Birthers false belief that our President is a secret Muslim and not a citizen of the United States. Boenhner said it is not his job to tell the American people what to think.
MR. GREGORY: As the speaker of the House , as a leader, do you not think it’s your responsibility to stand up to that kind of ignorance?
SPEAKER BOEHNER: David , it’s not my job to tell the American people what to think. Our job in Washington is to listen to the American people.
Yet, he continually tries to tell people what to think about President Obama’s policies and how people need to believe in the Republican policies. He was on Meet The Press so he could get the American people to believe in him and what he is doing. But when it comes to the issue of President Obama’s faith and national origin, he just wants to listen to what the racist, xenophobic, ignorant and crazy Birthers are saying and not tell them the truth.
