INDIANAPOLIS: One woman from Indianapolis claims that she probably won’t ever forget January 8.

It was terrifying and perhaps fatal. The woman, who asked to remain nameless out of worry for her safety, stated, “I want to see my kids.

The horrific experiences she had on Monday afternoon are described in detail in court records.

After 24-year-old Destinee Taylor sped around her automobile on I-65 close to Southport Road, the woman reportedly phoned the police. According to the documents, the woman thought Taylor had thrown something out the window in an attempt to hit her car.

According to the records, the woman then feigned to contact the police in the hopes that Taylor would stop. Taylor reportedly pulled up next to the woman and brandished a “pink” gun at her, the woman informed police.

“When I saw the barrel of the gun, I didn’t want to panic because, as you know, on the highway, we have people going 60 to 70 miles per hour. I could have had a wreck,” the woman said. “My first instinct was to call the police and get behind her, not on the side of her.”

State police were able to obtain images of the vehicle from the woman. Taylor was apprehended by ISP few hours later.

The woman claimed, “I just snapped as many pictures of the plate as I could before she left. I just went into quick thinking.”

Because the victims and witnesses are unable to provide adequate details about the gunman or vehicle involved, no arrests are made in the majority of these incidents.

For instance, out of the 66 recorded incidents of gunshots on the highway in 2022, just six arrests were made.

By 2023, that figure was approximately 7.

“I feel like this is one less person that needs to have a gun. [She was] using it irresponsibly,” the woman said.
